Visit to San Francisco and
GRACE CATHEDRAL
July 15-27, 2008

Stupid Swedish tourist in SFO with street
map trying to find the cathedral.

Finally….HERE IT IS - GRACE CATHEDRAL!!!
Remember - it was here Duke Ellington premièred his
Sacred Concert #1 on September 16, 1965.

Thomas Åberg in front of the cathedral - walking the
famous labyrinth.

The beautiful organ of Grace cathedral.

The pedal section of the same organ.

The honourable and generous Ben Bachmann,
Assistant Director of Music arranged for me to play at the organ.

When you are a crazy organ music composer like me and get the opportunity to
play on an instrument like this - you really feel the moment of GRACE.
My
almost daily visits to Grace Cathedral gave me also wonderful spiritual
experiences. The whole cathedral is warm and welcoming and you really feel
the atmosphere of GRACE in there! Walking the labyrinths is also an
extraordinary experience - something to remember in your heart and take back
home.
Thanks
again to Ben Bachmann (Assistant Director of Music), Jeffrey Smith (Canon
Director of Music) and to Nida (Photographer).
