Hartwig Barte-Hanssen in
St. Paul's cathedral, London

On May 4th, 2003 German concert organist and composer HARTWIG BARTE-HANSSEN made the first performance of THOMAS ÅBERG's new work for organ "WAITING FOR ASTOR..." in St. Jacob's cathedral, Prague.

"Waiting for Astor..." is dedicated to Barte-Hanssen and its atmosphere is brought from the tango-world of the Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla.

Over the years Barte-Hanssen has played a large number of Åberg's works such as Symphony, Fantasy A-minor etc. He also made the first German perfomance of Åberg's "By the Sea at Night" (John Gracen Brown) with soprano Dr. Angela Kentsch in August 2002 and played Three St. George Preludes in London St. Paul's July 2003.
